Say hello to the newest member of the Pendle LSD lineup - OETH, the latest pool that's been seeded with liquidity by the @OriginProtocol team!
OETH, an LSD of LSDs, is designed to help you optimize yields and stack ETH faster, now with a little help from Pendle 🚀

The other option is to sit pretty inside the OETH pool as an LP, earning a additional fees and rewards on top native OETH yields.
Same liquidity. More rewards.

Historically, the lowest yield from OETH was ~6.61%.
Assuming yield dips to 6.61%, you'd still be able outperform native OETH with YT-OETH.
But again, this is assuming OETH yields won't go any lower than this.

Early birds get the worm 🐦
Some of the best opportunities are found in new pools like OETH.
If you think that the Underlying APY can stay at this level, you can long yield (via YT-OETH) earn ~31% APY off this LSD of LSDs 🔥

Alternative - Provide liquidity on Pendle in these ETH pools for ~20%, which provides a mixed yield exposure (fixed + floating), while at the same time capitalize on swaps/volatility to earn fees + PENDLE rewards.

Some funky stuff going on with the ETH Staking Yield Curve, but funky could mean opportunities in the right hands...
Overview
Right from the get-go, the main storyline here can be split into 2 parts:
🔹Before June 2025, the Pendle market's prediction is that yield will increase to ≥4% from the current rate of 3.68%.
🔹After June 2025, yield is expected to drop ≤3.75%, possibly from expectation of yield compression as staking% catches up. After all, ETH has one of the lowest staked ratio at ~17% vs. other POS chains like AVAX with ~62% and Solana with ~71%.
If you don't expect much fluctuation in the short-middle term, getting a Fixed APY above the floating yield rate offered by stETH is potentially a good move here:
🔹wstETH (Dec 2023) on Arbitrum - 4.03%
🔹wstETH (June 2024) on Arbitrum - 4.10%
⭐stETH (Dec 2024) on Ethereum - 4.16%
Potential Arbitrage?
One exception is the wstETH (Sep 2024) on Optimism, which is sitting at 3.66% Implied APY.
If we expect this to converge upwards to the rest of the Implied APY like we see in other chains, then one potential play is:
🔹Buy YT-wstETH here
🔹Sell YT back to PT once Implied APY increases
Doing so lets you earn the profit from selling YT, and at the same time get a higher-than-actual Fixed APY with stETH.
Conclusion
ETH staking has become synonymous with the "de-factor risk free rate of DeFi", and the term structure for ETH staking yield on Pendle represents this ETH risk-free rate up to ~5 years out at different maturities with depth. It's a wealth of information on market perception that can be used to supplement your own yield exposures.
